Behind the Lens: Women in Film

Women are underrecognized and underrepresented in the film industry. It may be surprising that this wasn't always the case. For as long as cinema has been around, women have played vital roles, especially behind the camera. Partnering with the Mise en Scène Film Festival— another project you can view here —this promo reel provides a short and engaging historical summary while encouraging ticket sales. Illustrative scenes, kinetic typography, and a witty script are used to create an engaging animation. This motion graphics piece was accompanied by research for an Honors thesis.
