Birds may ruffle our feathers, but this nationwide campaign for the Urban Bird Foundation educates the public about why birds are vital to cities. Hand-lettered typography and quirky illustrations gives urban birds a personality that creates empathy in the viewer. Media types include OOH ads, a commercial, an ambient installation, a microsite, and social media—which encourages folks to take the #birdfriendly pledge. Goofy illustrations, humorous copy, and a collaborative effort with Twitter reaches the city-dwelling folk in hopes of creating a healthier environment not only for the birds, but the people in cities.
